Cookstown’s John McGlaughlin is organising a horsepower fuelled evening with a difference on Saturday 20 February! Billed as a ‘Night at the Races’, Cookstown’s Greenvale Hotel will be transformed into a fun-filled evening extravaganza in what will be a fundraiser for McGlaughlin Motorsport and the Freeplay Foundation.
Alan Carmichael and co-driver Ivor Lamont recorded their first Mitsubishi Ralliart Evolution Challenge Ireland victory of the season on this weekend's Todds Leap Ulster International Rally, round three of the Irish Mitsubishi series. They took the lead in the latter part of the first day and were never challenged for the remainder of the rally after British Championship front-runners Keith Cronin/Greg Shinnors crashed out.
Next weekend's Antrim-based ToddsLeap.com Ulster International Rally hosts the seventh round of this year's Mitsubishi Ralliart Evolution Challenge Ireland, when for the first time, the Irish one-make series for Group N Lancers converges with its UK counterpart.

John McGlaughlin and co-driver Crawford Henderson emerged from the final stage of this weekend's Hotel Kilmore Stages Rally to win round five of the Mitsubishi Ralliart Evolution Challenge Ireland. After an intense, day-long battle, they overhauled leaders for most of the event Neil McCance/Sean Ferris in the closing stages to record victory in what was their debut in the highly competitive series for Group N Mitsubishis.
It was certainly a grandstand finish for this Cavan Stages Rally with Kevin Barrett leading after stage 7, Niall Maguire drew level after stage 8, so it was right down to the wire on stage 9. Kevin Barrett's Subaru suffered a puncture and Niall Maguire was 5s faster through the stage to win the rally by 5 seconds.
Round five of the Mitsubishi Ralliart Evolution Challenge Ireland takes place this weekend, when eight crews head to Cavan for the Hotel Kilmore Stages Rally, which is the first time that this popular one-day event has hosted a round of the Irish Mitsubishi series.
After a very unlucky Tour Of The Sperrins John Scored no points for his Northern Ireland championship. John now looks ahead to 24th May and heads for Cavan. This is Rd 5 of the Irish Evo Challenge and the team 1st time to enter a evo challenge round. Everyone is looking forward to the new challenge.
